sweet sight :)

hello! just checking in, and saying hi from palm beach florida. :) I thought Mom would like to see pics so here are a few...i find it handy having a laptop along b/c once the kids are in bed we are rather stuck in our hotel room. of course, if you know our kids at all you will know that they are not exactly easy-and-early-to-bed type of children so it all works out. :) they are being really good, even despite the crazy hours flying in last night (kev worked yesterday), our flight landed at midnight or something but it took f-o-r-e-v-e-r to get our rental car so by the time we were settled into our hotel room it was something like 2:30 am and they had been awake until at least 1:30...and ready to see the floridian sights at 8:30 a.m. despite our begging them to go back to sleep. We made a mental note should we ever book from Budget car rental again to do all of our paperwork etc online so that we don't have to wait in line to get the car, we can just use a kiosk. the up side of the wee morning hour spent in the budget car rental line was that they upgraded us to a 7 seater SUV, so Lou & Jay you should be happy about that next week. :)

palm beach is beautiful, and there are incredible homes along the beach...including this home formerly owned by D. Trump (he listed it a couple of years ago for $125 million which made it the most expensive house in the US but it later sold for $100 million so it may have lost that status i'm not sure) 22 bathrooms, 18 bedrooms...we didn't see this house but it was interesting to see some of the other ones. Interesting...impressive...fascinating...crazy...kind of sad, in light of how many others in the world are living. I was wowed by the drive through though!

the water was warmer than the air. :) It is not hot here in Florida, even this far south. and i am worried Jade might be coming down with something (i have come to expect this on vacations :( ) ...so i have the boys all bundled up on the beach. i think it is supposed to warm up next week, with thunderstorms. :) Today was just over 60 degrees! But it was good enough to play in the sand and sun and water. Kev and Ashleigh went completely underwater, i felt it but didn't plan to go in b/c i have a small fear of sharks. and other water life. let me tell you that fear is even bigger after talking to the lifeguard, who told us there was a spinner shark that jumped out of the water just north of where they were...he was like, "oh, you didn't see it? It was so close to you!" ...not to worry, he said, they are mostly harmless to humans (unless provoked) and they see them all the time. at first we thought he was joking, but he wasn't. yikes. safe to say i will be staying clear of the ocean waters. you have to see the video of a spinner shark below!!

Carole Carole,
Glad that you all arrived safely. Now that you are officially there, I am so sad that we will miss being neighbours with you all and Jay in beautiful Windsor Hills. Have a great time!

Oh - so fun! I can't wait to get down there ourselves! Of course, we've got the long drive first, but we're well stocked up with story tapes and DVDs and snacks and such, so I'm hoping it'll be a breeze :) Great news about Jades and the underwear - I totally understand your excitement :)
